Do you know?
Google records millions of searches from its users around the world. No matter what the query is, Google is there 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year to solve the problems of the people. Google does not go on vacations. It does not come with excuses.
It comes with clear information about the topic you search.
When people put their queries on Google, it gives them a bunch of links to meet with their requirements.
These links are actually mine and your websites. That’s perfect, right?
Now, the problem is, there are so many websites presenting the same topic, same content and same answer for the question which was searched. That’s where SEO comes. I explained the term SEO (Search engine optimization) in
It refers to the optimization of the page or website according to the search engine’s requirements, for getting better results from web search. It helps to get more visitors on a website.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is very important for your website. People don’t know that your website exists. They don’t know anything about you and your web presence. Everyday, people are searching the web for new material. For every query, they look for the answers on the web. So, it’s important for you to tell them that you exist.
How will you do this?
Is it possible for you to reach out to the seven billion population of the world? No, surely not. ☺
You need search engines to help you out. Because search engines know who is searching what. They can show up answers to the people related to their queries. May be, your website is the best answer for somebody’s query. I described some basic SEO tips in
Today, we will discuss some on-page SEO tips which will really help you out.
What is on-page SEO
SEO is actually divided into two categories. On-page SEO and off-page SEO.
On-page SEO is all about optimising your website pages according to the need of search engines while Off-page SEO refers to the out of the website tips which can be applied such as, social promotion, backlinks and submitting your site to the web directories etc.
On-page SEO can make a great difference in your SEO strategy. Here are some tips to help you out.
Choose the relevant keywords
Keywords are the important and special words of your website. These are the words that are already searched by the people. By using them, you can rank your website easily on search engines. Because people are already searching for them.
When you write a post, do the keyword research to find out the best relevant keywords to use in your post. Use keywords in h1 tag and two or three times in the content. This really helps. Don’t overuse the keywords. This strategy is wrong.
For better SEO ranking, you can focus on the long-tail keywords. This is what I learnt from
For example, if you want to write about article writing tips, use keywords like, how to write an article or tips to write an article. These are long-tail keywords. People who search these keywords will be able to find your post easily. The reason behind this long-tail keyword research is that the competition for common keywords is so high on search engines. As a beginner, you cannot get better search engine rankings by using common keywords because there are many websites using these keywords. They have better ranking than you, they have more visitors and shares than you. So, concentrating on long-tail keywords can be a result bringing technique for you.
Use heading tags
Headings divide your post. They make your post easier to understand. Search engines also focus on headings tags <h> tags. Your title should be in <h1> tag. It means that the title heading should be in heading level 1.
For the other headings, you must write important headings inn <h2> tag (in heading level 2) and the sub headings of important headings in <h3> or <h4> tag (heading level 3 or heading level 4) this is recommended.
Use graphic content
I usually don’t use more graphic content because live images are not permissible in my religion. But I use screenshots and text graphics to make the things easier to understand. As much as I know, they are permissible in Islam.
If you are writing a tutorial, you can use screenshots to guide your readers in the best possible way.
Another tip is, use alt text to help the search engines understand your graphics.
Search engines usually do automatic crawling on your website. They cannot understand the graphics unless you explain. Add alt text in your images to explain the search engines what they contain. Alt text also helps users with visual problems to understand the graphic content.
Use meta description and tags
Meta description is the short summery of your web page. You can add it through your post editor. It tells the search engines about what this web page contains and when to show this up. Same is the work of meta tags.
Use key points of your post in the description. This will help in getting more organic visitors.
Google shows up the meta description of the page just right after the title and web link of the page.
Use internal links and outbound links
Internal links are the links of different posts from the same website or blog. While outbound links are the relevant links from other blogs. Using both is a perfect strategy to get more visitors.
Internal links increase audience engagement on your site, as the readers click on them to read more posts on your site. This makes the reader to stay on your website for a long time and time spent by audience on a page matters a lot on search engines.
Outbound links really create unique blogging relations. When you link to other sites, the admins of that websites visit your page in most of the cases. They read it, share it and new blogging relations occur at times by just linking to another post.
Also, search engines take it seriously. Websites which link to others’ content get high exposure on search engines.
Have you noticed that websites which are shown up on the first page of a search usually have the loading time of less than 10 seconds?
The ideal loading time of a website is 2 to 5 seconds, suggested by a research.
It’s better if your website does not test the patience of the visitors and loads with in seconds. Do concentrate on it.
Use modifiers in the title of the post
I got this technique from
and what an amazing strategy it is. A modifier refers to a word which provides modification to the sentence.
For example, if your title is, “Browsers of 2019”
Add modifier in it to make it more convincing. Your title can be, “Fastest browsers of 2019” Fastest is the modifier here. These modifiers create a big difference.
On-page SEO is very important for the over all growth of your website. To define it simple, we can say that It’s the presentation of your work.
Now, you have read this post till the end. 👆 It’s your turn to let me know, how much do you care about the presentation of your work?
